Southern California Teamsters Retiree's Association (SCTRA)

The SCTRA was chartered by the I.B.T. as a retiree affiliate in 1984 with the mission to keep retirees, spouses and family informed and included in our union, but more importantly to maintain unity to protect our interests as working people. Our SCTRA is set up to advance the welfare of our retirees by maintaining an information & referral center for all retirees and offer group support. We produce a quarterly newsletter (The Teamster Retiree), organize casino turnarounds, education/information seminars, annual luncheons with prizes, and invitations to participate in local union actions as volunteers. We are over 700 members strong, with retiree chapters in the area open to all retirees & spouses, with a simple annual dues/donation of $25.00 (including spouses), and an Executive Board of 7 retirees that volunteer to oversee business,. office and financial matters. The SCTRA is a 501c4 non-profit association, recognized by the federal IRS with annual report/financial filings, which do not provide tax exempt status from dues/donations, but allows for business expenses, charity donations and gifts to members.
